Overview Senior Mechanical Engineer needed to lead mechanical design and analysis of VEIR's superconducting cable systems. You will own component design from concept through fabrication and support cryogenic thermal management integration. You'll mentor junior engineers, coordinate with vendors, and drive cross-functional deployment of new products in a fast-growing company. This role combines mechanical, structural, and thermal expertise to enable scalable power delivery solutions.

Responsibilities- Spearhead mechanical and structural design of superconducting cables and related components
- Own the design, development, and testing of low- and medium-voltage system components from concept to fabrication
- Define mechanical requirements and oversee qualification testing, coordinating in-house and external resources
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system deployment and cryogenic thermal management integration
- Review design calculations and drawings, mentoring junior engineers
- Interface with vendors and manufacturers to maintain timelines and quality in fabrication
Key requirements- 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience with emphasis on mechanical, structural, and thermal analysis
- Experience with high temperature superconductors, cryogenics, and cable systems
- End-to-end product development experience from concept through production
- CAD-based mechanical design and creation of fabrication drawings
- Experience with MATLAB, Python or similar; coding is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration, vendor management, and mentoring
