Overview

In this role you will provide technical oversight for peptide manufacturing at external contract manufacturers, ensuring quality, compliance, and robust processes. You will collaborate across Lilly and partner teams to address technical issues, validate processes, and drive continuous improvement. You'll work closely with development, central technical organizations, and site management to ensure regulatory alignment and sustained process capability. This position offers meaningful work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering life-changing medicines. You will help shape manufacturing strategies and support a 24/7 operation mindset at Lilly.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical oversight and stewardship for peptide manufacturing processes
  • Lead resolution of technical issues relating to control strategy and manufacturing
  • Manage internal and external relationships through clear communication
  • Build and maintain relationships with development and central technical organizations
  • Characterize processes and products and document process descriptions, measures, ranges, specifications, and justifications
  • Ensure processes are compliant, in control, and maintained in a validated/qualified state
  • Document validation status with data supporting process capability
  • Influence and implement the network technical agenda and drive continuous improvement
  • Maintain peptide processes in compliance with US and global regulations
  • Understand scientific principles of manufacturing intermediates and drug substances, including chemistry-equipment interactions
  • Operate with a team-centric mindset and mentor peers and scientists
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, or Engineering (Chemistry/Biochemistry strongly preferred)
  • 3+ years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience and regulatory knowledge
