Overview As a Senior Estimator at Stantec, you will lead multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules for large infrastructure projects. You'll coordinate a cross-functional team of estimators, schedulers, and engineers to deliver competitive, defensible budgets for projects ranging from millions to billions. Your expertise in hydroelectric and electrical infrastructure will shape project scopes and execution plans. This role offers global project exposure, client interaction, and opportunities to influence design and cost outcomes.

Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate development of multi-discipline cost estimates and schedules
- Collaborate with estimators to develop estimates and schedules
- Develop detailed estimates for electrical systems and related facilities (generators, substations, transformers, SCADA, etc.)
- Coordinate input parameters, validate takeoffs, and compile information into a single estimate
- Develop estimate execution plans, staffing, and basis of cost estimate reports
- Establish site-specific estimating criteria and wage/productivity rates
- Perform quality control of design documents and propose improvements
- Support procurement, quotes, and pricing activities; assist with change and claims valuation
- Prepare construction logistics plans and identify risks/opportunities for cost/schedule impacts
- Interface with management and clients for estimating tasks and defensibility
- Stay current on industry trends and improve estimate quality and competitiveness
- Mentor and guide estimating team members in techniques and methodologies
- Maintain strong client-facing relations and ensure alignment on scope and estimates
- Travel as needed for site reconnaissance and stakeholder engagement
Key requirements- Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (representative)
- Minimum 10 years in estimating and construction roles
- Experience with hydroelectric, utility, renewable energy, transmission, or power infrastructure projects
- Estimating expertise in hydroelectric generation facilities and related electrical systems
- Proficiency with estimating and scheduling software (InEight, Sage Timberline, On-Screen Take-Off, MCASES MII, IPE, HCSS)
- Experience with Primavera P6 or MS Project
- Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities; mentoring capability
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
