Overview In this role you will drive Drum and Percussion sales while delivering exceptional customer service in Guitar Center's Drum Shop. You will help customers select gear, stay current on product trends, and keep the department organized and inviting. You will build relationships with the local drumming community and vendor partners, supporting promotions and trainings. This position blends product expertise with hands-on selling to shape outstanding customer experiences.
Responsibilities- Greet and assist customers in the Drum Department to deliver top-tier service
- Understand customer musical needs and guide them to suitable Drum and Percussion products
- Actively promote and sell drum gear to meet or exceed sales goals
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Drum and Percussion inventory and industry trends
- Articulate features and benefits of percussion instruments to illustrate value
- Keep the Drum Department clean, organized, and merchandised to company standards
- Maintain accurate pricing and update displays to enhance the shopping experience
- Execute daily operational tasks to keep the department ready for business
- Monitor inventory levels, restock displays, and maintain an appealing presentation
- Participate in onboarding, certification, and ongoing education programs
- Attend vendor training sessions to stay updated on industry developments
- Foster relationships within the local drumming community and with drum gear vendors
- Attend vendor-related events and trainings, including potential travel
- Engage in external promotions to raise awareness of the store's drum business
Key requirements- Willing to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Drum and Percussion Equipment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Genuine enthusiasm for drumming and percussion instruments
- Retail sales experience preferred
