Overview In this role you drive Advanced Product Quality Planning and lead the Quality Management System to ensure ISO 9001 compliance and customer requirements. You will own APQP from concept to safe launch, support DFMEA/PFMEA with cross-functional teams, and shepherd PPAP submissions for customer approval. You will build and maintain QMS documentation, audits, and performance metrics, while championing a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Responsibilities- Lead APQP deliverables across PDP phases from kickoff to PPAP approval and safe launch
- Serve as FMEA expert supporting DFMEA/PFMEA development and risk ranking
- Compile and submit PPAP packages for customer approval and develop control plans
- Develop and release control plans aligned to development phases and ensure launch readiness
- Participate in design reviews and engineering-change assessments; drive risk mitigation actions
- Oversee QMS documentation, internal audits, and audit readiness; ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements
- Coach and lead cross-functional teams on QMS tools and processes; develop metrics to monitor quality and risk
- Lead problem solving (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) and drive corrective actions for launch and early production
- Manage document control and expand QMS across supporting functions
- Champion culture of quality, safety, and excellence across programs
Key requirements- 5+ years in advanced product quality, NPI, or QMS in automotive or heavy-vehicle industry
- Proven APQP and PPAP submissions through customer approval
- Hands-on DFMEA/PFMEA, control plans, MSA/Gage R&R, SPC, and process capability studies
- Experience maintaining a QMS and leading audits, corrective actions, and document control
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001; IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, or ISO 14001 experience a plus
- Structured problem solving depth (8D, 5-Why); Lead Auditor certification strongly preferred
- Battery/high-voltage or electrified powertrain product experience preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office, QMS/PLM tools, and statistical software (Minitab, Power BI, Tableau)
