Commodity Manager - Terminations

Overview

In this role you drive the sourcing strategy for VEIR's Terminations subsystem, leading contract manufacturing partnerships from prototype to volume production. You partner with Engineering, Quality and cross-functional teams to qualify suppliers, run RFIs/RFQs, and support PPAP and process validation. You'll build multi-sourcing, manage supplier performance, and push for lead-time reductions to enable scalable, reliable production. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with a clear impact on product readiness and cost control in a high-tech hardware environment.

Responsibilities
  • Own the CM sourcing program for Terminations from prototype to volume builds
  • Identify, screen, and qualify contract manufacturers for terminations
  • Develop RFIs/RFQs with Engineering and support supplier audits and PPAP activities
  • Lead supplier negotiations, commercial terms, and multi-sourcing strategies
  • Build supplier scorecards and manage supplier reviews as ramp progresses
  • Collaborate across Product, Commercial, Engineering, Finance and Logistics on packaging, lead times, and onboarding
  • Create a multi-year sourcing roadmap aligned with VEIR's scale-up plans
Key requirements
  • 5+ years in supply chain, commodity management, or strategic sourcing with direct CM management experience
  • Technical engineering background; mechanical engineering preferred
  • Experience setting up and managing contract manufacturers for electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Experience developing RFIs/RFQs with engineering teams from prototype to production
  • Familiarity with NPI stage-gate processes and PPAP preferred
  • Experience negotiating supplier agreements and multi-sourcing strategies
  • Willingness to travel for supplier visits, audits, and qualification activities
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
