Project Manager / Senior Stormwater Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead and manage water resources, stormwater, and natural resources projects in a dynamic team. You'll provide technical leadership across federal, state, municipal, and private clients, mentoring mid- and junior staff while driving project success. You will help deliver design, permitting, and construction services with a focus on green infrastructure and nature-based solutions. This is a client-facing role with business development elements in the Virginia/Maryland/North Carolina region.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as project and technical manager for stormwater planning, design, and implementation projects
  • Lead preparation of project proposals and agreements
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in design and construction drawing preparation and cost estimation for stormwater infrastructure projects
  • Provide technical direction, oversight, and review of project deliverables per AECOM quality standards
  • Prepare, review, and seal design documents as a licensed professional engineer in Virginia
  • Provide bid and construction phase services for various clients
  • Organize and lead routine project communications with clients (in-person and virtual)
  • Maintain client relationships and contracts through successful delivery
  • Develop new client relationships and lead business development in VA, MD, and NC
  • Develop statements of qualifications and responses to RFQs/RFPs
  • Attend and facilitate client meetings; coordinate with regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate with project team members and subcontractors
  • Participate in local/regional water resources organizations and present at technical conferences
  • Local travel in Virginia; occasional travel outside local area
Key requirements
  • BA/BS in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • Professional engineer license in Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bluebeam (or similar drafting software)
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to pass MVR review
