Overview In this role you will advance water resource projects within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on groundwater supply, carbon sequestration, and subsurface characterization. You will collaborate with engineers, geologists, and environmental specialists to deliver client-ready solutions across the United States, with a mix of desk work and occasional field activities. You will mentor junior staff, support permitting and regulatory processes, and help shape project strategies. Responsibilities- Provide hydrogeologic, subsurface characterization, and carbon sequestration support for diverse projects
- Interpret geologic/hydrogeologic data and support permitting/regulatory activities (UIC/CCS)
- Review and approve work by junior staff; guide technical methods and reporting
- Develop project plans, budgets, and resource allocations; lead multidisciplinary teams
- Coordinate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders; ensure deliverables meet client needs
- Present findings to clients and technical professionals; contribute to proposals and client strategy
- Mentor junior staff; promote cross-solution collaboration and adherence to safety/processes
Key requirements- 10+ years of relevant experience in geology, hydrogeology, geosystems engineering or environmental geology
- Master's degree in Geology, Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, Hydrogeology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred)
- Licensed Professional Geologist/Geoscientist or Professional Engineer or equivalent
- Advanced subsurface evaluation and aquifer characterization experience
- Experience with CCS project development, reservoir modeling, permitting, and monitoring
- Proficiency with Petrel, ECLIPSE, CMG or similar reservoir/groundwater software
- Familiarity with UIC programs, injection wells, aquifer storage and recovery
- Strong regulatory understanding and ability to interact with federal/state agencies
- GIS proficiency and data visualization skills
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and client-engagement capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead cross-functional teams
