Overview In this Battery Manufacturing Engineering role, you will industrialize Cell-to-Pack BEV battery pack factories and lead cross-functional efforts to specify, deliver, and commission advanced processes and equipment. You will explore next-gen processes to boost quality, efficiency, and cost, while collaborating with product, purchasing, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability. This position blends hands-on implementation with digital and simulation tools to scale state-of-the-art battery manufacturing. Responsibilities- Lead and engineer manufacturing line layouts and processes for Battery Manufacturing and Cell-to-Pack module assembly
- Drive simultaneous engineering with Product, Purchasing and Suppliers to assess manufacturing feasibility
- Develop design-for-manufacturing strategies for new Cell-to-Pack products
- Collaborate with OEMs on equipment, process, and tooling designs
- Coordinate with automation partners to identify productive, cost-effective solutions
- Own ROI assessment and manage quality methods (PFMEA, gauging, inspection plans)
- Create control plans aligned with quality strategy and define cycle times and OEE targets
- Define equipment acceptance criteria and manage schedule and budget
- Lead equipment installation, site acceptance, and ongoing change management to deliver quality and cost targets
- Support plant operations to meet system performance objectives (OEE, cycle time, JPH) and ensure smooth transitions to production
- Develop manufacturing instructions and process documents; provide training materials and spare parts lists
- Support launch requests and extraordinary needs with cell suppliers
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Travel and short-term relocation as needed
- Hybrid work arrangement with onsite requirements at Ford hubs
Key requirements- Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent; Masters preferred
- 1-3+ years in Process Engineering
- Experience with Cell-to-Pack module assembly processes (prismatic form factor preferred) and major project experience
- Experience implementing large-scale manufacturing lines as engineer or project manager
- Proficiency with simulation tools and digital methods (AutoCAD, Siemens PLM, etc)
- Experience with AutoCAD layouts and mechanical design stack-up
- Experience with JIRA and Smartsheet
- Experience with 3DX and Siemens virtual assembly ecosystem
- Hands-on, adaptable in dynamic environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel; remote work capability as needed
