Overview In this senior role, you will drive best-in-class quality through the supplier industrialization process for Lucid's chassis systems. You'll partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to balance design innovation with robust manufacturing, guiding APQP/PPAP activities and ensuring quality gates. The role is high-visibility and fast-paced, requiring hands-on quality expertise and strong leadership. You'll help scale and validate chassis components across global supplier sites, contributing to Lucid's mission of luxury EV excellence.

Responsibilities- Develop, manage, and improve the APQP process with suppliers from design through mass production
- Lead design reviews and ensure DFM/A considerations and quality expectations in chassis designs
- Drive and track Tier 1-2 supplier Engineering Design Change activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Purchasing, New Projects Implementation, Plant Manufacturing, Incoming Quality, Material Planning, and Plant SQEs
- Perform supplier assessments, audits, site inspections, and drive process improvement plans with measurable metrics
- Travel 25-75% to Lucid and supplier sites globally to support program needs
- Document processes and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, VDA, and AIAG/IATF16949 standards
- Analyze supplier and assembly data to verify capability against quality requirements
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering or related field
- 5+ years in high-volume manufacturing or assembly environments in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, R&D, or Manufacturing Engineering (Automotive experience preferred)
- Experience industrializing chassis components and maturing parts and processes via APQP/PPAP
- 6+ years of hands-on APQP and PPAP project management
- Ability to read schematics and drawings; strong understanding of chassis quality standards
- Knowledge of quality lifecycle stages and quality gates; proficiency with quality tools (IATF 16949, VDA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T, 8D, 5 Whys)
- Strong collaboration, data-driven problem solving, and adaptable mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred: Master's degree in engineering; certifications (e.g., ASQ, Six Sigma Black Belt)
