Overview

As Lead Stormwater & Water Resources Engineer, you drive technical leadership across stormwater, drainage, flood risk, and water resources projects nationwide. You'll mentor engineers, shape standards, and apply advanced modeling to challenging problems. The role blends hands-on design with strategic guidance, ensuring robust, compliant deliverables. You'll work with cross functional teams and clients to advance resilient water infrastructure. Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership for stormwater, drainage, flood risk, and water resources projects across markets
  • Oversee reports, modeling, calculations, design drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Mentor engineers through coaching, reviews, and practical training
  • Support development of discipline standards, QA/QC, modeling workflows, and training resources
  • Lead design and delivery of stormwater systems, drainage infrastructure, watershed studies, and flood mitigation projects
  • Perform hydrologic/hydraulic analyses and develop drainage and watershed plans
  • Lead hydrologic/hydraulic modeling using industry tools and apply results to planning, permitting, and stakeholder communication
  • Prepare and review technical reports, permit applications, and agency submittals; coordinate with agencies
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain
  • Experience in stormwater, drainage, and water resources with complex technical delivery
  • Experience providing technical leadership and quality reviews
  • Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software: HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM, PCSWMM, HydroCAD, ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience preparing/reviewing reports, studies, designs, specs, bid documents
  • Strong communication of technical information to teams, clients, and agencies
  • Ability to travel 10-20% as needed
