Overview In this role you will architect and drive secure, resilient platforms that operate in untrusted environments, guiding the creation of isolation and verification frameworks for safe execution at scale. You will lead defensive architectures addressing advanced threats, including AI-powered misuse, and enable secure hosting of both Google and third-party models and data. This is a cross-functional leadership role focused on multi-cloud workloads, confidential compute, and safeguarding core infrastructure. You will influence executive stakeholders and serve as a technical bridge across Google's engineering units, shaping a mission-critical security program.
Responsibilities- Define and drive technical strategies for secure execution in untrusted environments
- Architect resilient distributed platforms bridging physical and logical security
- Lead cross-organizational efforts to protect AI training/inference infrastructure
- Enable safe hosting of third-party models and customer data
- Develop guardrails for autonomous AI agents and multi-cloud workloads
- Influence roadmaps across product groups and engage with C-level stakeholders
- Address emerging security threats and industry trends in AI infrastructure
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 15 years of experience as a software engineering leader
- Experience with technical innovation in cross-functional engineering environments
- Experience in data center security, networking security, hardware security, or operating system security
