Overview In this role you will lead mechanical development of automotive interior switches from concept to production launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. You will apply Siemens NX CAD, GD&T, and analysis methods to design robust solutions that meet system specs and customer needs. You will own project delivery, validation, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced R&D environment. This opportunity lets you influence product outcomes and grow within a mission-driven automotive supplier. You will work closely with senior engineers to translate concepts into manufacturable designs at scale.

Responsibilities- Lead mechanical engineering activities for assigned projects across the product lifecycle
- Create designs, drawings, and specifications for new or modified products
- Develop mechanical requirements aligned with system specs and customer expectations
- Investigate issues and implement cost-effective design solutions
- Perform engineering analyses including kinematics, performance, stress, and tolerance studies
- Conduct validation testing, support DV/PV, interpret results, and drive design improvements
- Collaborate with industrial, tooling, manufacturing, and supplier teams on production equipment and tooling
- Manage project schedules and engineering deliverables
- Prepare and present updates to customers on designs and changes
- Coordinate activities across cross-functional teams to meet program goals
- Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering best practices
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3 to 7 years of mechanical product development experience, preferably automotive
- Proficiency in Siemens NX 3D CAD
- Experience with CATIA V5 is preferred
- Strong knowledge of plastics and high-volume injection molding
- Experience with DFMEA and other quality tools
- Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving
- Ability to interpret simulation results (FEA, illumination, thermal)
- Engineering calculations including tolerance stack-ups and stress analysis
- Ability to support testing, troubleshoot issues, and analyze results
- Proven ability to independently manage tasks and lead projects
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills

- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
