Overview In this role you will lead or support substation structural projects for power utilities, spanning 34.5kV to 500kV. You will work with the Power Group to strengthen client relationships and expand GFT's presence in power delivery. You'll deliver structure designs, calculations, and specifications while collaborating across disciplines to drive reliable, sustainable energy infrastructure. This position offers hybrid work and opportunities to shape major transmission projects.

Responsibilities- Develop substation structural steel and foundation drawings for new and existing substations
- Prepare structural steel and foundation calculations for substations
- Prepare specifications for substation structural materials
- Collaborate regionally and nationally to pursue power substation projects
- Develop and nurture client relationships across disciplines and offices
- Assist in preparing proposals, bids, reports, and presentations
Key requirements- Bachelor in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer License or on the path to licensure
- 8+ years of design, engineering and project management in power/utility
- Experience or interest in consulting engineering
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project) for scope/schedule/budget
- Design experience in high voltage substation and transmission projects
- Ability to deliver quality technical solutions for major power delivery projects
