Overview In this Tax Manager role, you will lead SALT audit initiatives across multiple states, defending tax positions and coordinating responses to tax authorities. You will collaborate with internal tax experts and cross-functional teams to drive accurate, timely outcomes on complex issues. The role emphasizes process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning to support Amazon's multi-jurisdictional tax posture. Responsibilities- Research, evaluate and document state and local tax issues from a controversy perspective
- Prepare, manage and defend responses to complex information requests from tax authorities
- Coordinate with stakeholders within Amazon Tax and non-Tax teams in connection with appeals
- Develop and deliver presentations on tax matters to various stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external advisors
- Implement and enhance organizational processes for continuous improvement
Key requirements- 5+ years of tax, finance or related analytical field experience
- J.D., or CPA
- Experience in supporting audit defense
- Experience in taxation in a corporate environment, public accounting firm or major law firm
