Overview

In this Civil Engineer role, you support water and wastewater treatment projects and related infrastructure in Chelmsford, MA under supervision of licensed engineers. You'll develop design layouts, basemaps, and permitting materials, and prepare documentation for construction and planning. The position offers mentorship, multidisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities to travel to sites. You will contribute to delivering safe, sustainable water solutions and gain hands-on experience with leading design tools.

Responsibilities
  • Apply standard engineering techniques to design civil/site systems for water and wastewater facilities
  • Develop existing conditions basemaps and review subsurface utilities for coordination
  • Prepare exhibits, sketches, and documents for planning, permitting, and presentations
  • Design site features such as access roads, drainage, slopes, walls, detention ponds
  • Layout and design yard piping, force mains, gravity sewers, water mains, and storm sewers
  • Produce design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles using Civil 3D, AutoCAD MEP, and Revit
  • Work under mentorship of a senior engineer
  • Occasionally travel to sites across North America
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam may be preferred
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and basic engineering analysis packages
  • Detail-oriented with ability to see the big picture and multitask
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
