Overview In this role you will perform structural analysis and design for water infrastructure projects under senior supervision, contributing to dams, treatment plants, and related facilities. You will produce calculations, drawings, and specifications aligned with codes, while supporting QC and project delivery. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external consultants to advance multiple projects and develop engineering standards. Responsibilities- Perform preliminary and detailed structural analysis and design for Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Reservoirs, other Hydraulic Containment Facilities, Industrial Structures, and Administrative Buildings
- Support projects related to dams, flood protection, power, water resources, and water infrastructure
- Design, analyze, and specify reinforced concrete, masonry and structural steel systems
- Oversee design, analysis, documentation, client interaction, and staff coordination on projects
- Support the engineering team in evaluating, selecting, and engineering structural systems for a project
- Prepare and revise documentation across conceptual, detailed, and construction phases
- Develop designs using sketches, 3D models, diagrams and visual formats
- Create 3D models and provide markups for junior engineers/designers
- Participate in client meetings and value analysis
- Prepare project specifications and coordinate with construction documents
- Prepare structural calculations using company/software
- Assist in developing new standards and specifications for the structural group
- Work on multiple projects with virtual teams
- Assist in project administration including reports, proposals, correspondence, and cost tracking
- Review shop drawings and submittals, develop engineered solutions for RFIs
- Assist in field activities including observations and monitoring
- Adhere to safety guidelines and policies
Key requirements- Working knowledge of structural design codes, standards, and building codes
- Understanding of project document production and drawings-to-specifications relationships
- Knowledge of structural systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards
- Ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate in teams
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using Revit and AutoCAD for 3D models and drawings
- Experience with STAAD, RAM, SAP2000, RISA software
- Knowledge of ACI 318, ACI 350, IBC, ASCE 7, ASCE 24, local codes
- Understanding USACE manuals related to concrete and hydraulic structures (preferred)
- Bachelor in Civil Engineering; Professional Engineer License; minimum 5 years of experience
