Overview In this role you will lead multiple data-infrastructure teams responsible for the Falcon platform's data plane, handling ultra-high-scale event ingestion and processing. You'll drive design, scaling, and maintenance of Spark/Flink-based systems across cloud and data centers, while shaping a strong engineering core. You'll hire, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable data products that power proactive security insights. This is a mission-driven, remote-friendly leadership role with a hybrid Austin office presence.

Responsibilities- Lead design, scaling and maintenance of data infrastructure services operating at hundreds of PBs
- Coordinate 2-3 teams across MLOps, data analytics and data recovery initiatives
- Hire, mentor, and grow top-tier data platform engineering talent
- Collaborate with engineering, product and leadership to deliver scalable data products
- Oversee deployment, scaling and management of data plane products for event ingestion and enrichment
Key requirements- MS in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of software engineering in large-scale data platforms
- 5+ years of hands-on management leading distributed teams
- Experience with real-time or near real-time data systems at ultra-high scale (hundreds of TB/day)
- Expertise in Spark, Flink, Iceberg, Pinot or similar real-time analytics stacks
- Production experience with Spark/Flink-based self-service data platforms or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem tools (Spark, Kafka, Hive/Iceberg/Delta Lake, Presto/Trino, Pinot, Druid)
- Proficient in Java/Scala/Kotlin or other JVM languages; performance tuning is a plus
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres/MySQL, Cassandra/DynamoDB)
- Familiarity with deployment/configuration tools (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible); Kubernetes knowledge
- Leadership track record building and scaling core engineering teams
- Experience working with remote teams across time zones; strong cross-team collaboration
- Ability to articulate complex concepts to executives and engineers; broad tech industry knowledge
