Overview In this role you will lead revenue, merchandise inventory, physical inventory, entitlement accounting, and related controls to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting for Michaels' retail, distribution, and Artistree manufacturing operations. You will drive data integrity in core accounting systems and support cross functional planning and analysis with insightful managerial reporting. You'll shape policies, drive process improvements, and manage a high impact team to sustain compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements. This is a strategic leadership role at the Irving headquarters with a clear focus on strengthening reporting quality and operational controls.

Responsibilities- Lead Revenue, Merchandise Inventory, Physical Inventory, Artistree, and Entitlement Accounting functions; develop policies and controls for accurate monthly financial reporting
- Benchmark and implement process improvements to increase productivity and control effectiveness
- Analyze proposed business changes for financial impact and risk to sales, inventory, and entitlements; collaborate to mitigate risks
- Develop and coach Revenue, Merchandise, Physical Inventory, Artistree, and Entitlement Accounting teams; support succession planning
- Identify and champion data quality improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and cross functional decision making
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- BS in Accounting or Finance
- 10 years of experience with at least 5 in a supervisory role
