Overview In this role you lead sophisticated structural projects, delivering well-coordinated construction documents. You work with the Structural Engineering Manager and Project Managers to define scope, budget, and approach, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring code-compliant design. You lead larger projects, drive quality and schedule, and coordinate across disciplines to deliver impactful, safe structures. Responsibilities- Lead project engineering on larger projects, overseeing production, quality, budget, and schedule
- Define project scope, budget and design approach with managers and clients
- Apply loading (wind, seismic) to designs and clearly detail requirements on drawings
- Produce innovative structural designs and provide engineering judgment
- Coordinate with Architectural and MEP teams for well-coordinated documents
- Maintain project files with calculations and correspondence
- Communicate scope changes to Managers and Project Managers
- Mentor less experienced engineers and supervise staff efforts
- Use structural software to enhance productivity and verify results with manual checks
- Backcheck others' work to ensure accurate models
Key requirements- 15 years of related experience in structural engineering
- Solid CMU design knowledge; wood experience a plus
- Bachelor in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master's preferred
- Professional Registration; SE preferred
- Experience with structural analysis tools: Risa, RAM, ETABS, SAP2000
- Drafting experience: Revit, Bluebeam
