Overview

In this role you will lead the Corporate Engineering function to align technical priorities with enterprise strategy, driving safe, high-quality engineering services across sites. You will partner with senior leadership to shape capital planning and governance, and to advance Catalyst and Transformation initiatives. You will manage a multidisciplinary engineering team, optimize resources, and deliver measurable improvements in project execution and value to business units. This position offers a strategic, cross-functional impact at scale within a manufacturing organization.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Corporate Engineering function, aligning priorities with enterprise and unit needs
  • Coordinate engineering support across business units to ensure consistent, timely delivery
  • Partner with Chief Legal and Strategy Officer and enterprise leadership on investments, capital planning, and risk management
  • Establish enterprise-wide engineering standards, governance, and best practices for safety and quality
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers and professionals across mechanical, electrical, chemical/process, reliability, and project engineering
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, resource utilization, and service delivery models
  • Support Transformation Office and Catalyst initiatives with adequate resources and governance
  • Manage budgets and report KPIs, project performance, and capital deployment to leadership
  • Represent Corporate Engineering in cross-functional forums to support decision-making
  • Communicate engineering priorities and progress to BU Leaders, Operations Managers, Plant Managers, and Plant Support staff
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related)
  • 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial, or chemical plant environments
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience
  • Experience in matrixed organizations and supporting multiple sites or business units
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
  • Deep technical knowledge across engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, chemical/process, or reliability)
  • Knowledge of capital project management and stage-gate governance (FEL/FEED)
  • Ability to translate enterprise strategy into actionable engineering priorities
  • Business acumen and experience partnering with senior leadership
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, ChemCAD)
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
