Overview In this role you design, implement, and own next generation AWS hardware and platform solutions that enable high-performance AI/ML and HPC workloads at cloud scale. You work across teams to deliver scalable, reliable server systems and tooling, influencing AWS platforms and bottom-line outcomes. You'll diagnose cross component issues, decompose complex problems, and drive architectural improvements. Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership to solve complex architectural problems with minimal definition
- Own the team's systems, identify deficiencies, and write tactical code to prevent customer impact
- Decompose difficult server system testability, reliability, and diagnosis issues into deliverable tasks
- Apply knowledge of hardware, software, system designs, x86 architecture, processes, and operations to solutions
- Collaborate across AWS Hardware Engineering, EC2, and other AWS services during concept, launch, and operation of server designs
- Drive high quality and reliability in future AWS Accelerated server solutions for the cloud
- Lead and execute projects with internal and external teams to deliver hardware in the fleet
- Contribute to the design and delivery of next generation AWS platforms for AI/ML workloads
Key requirements- 2+ years of non-internship software development experience
- 1+ years designing or architecting systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling)
- 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience programming in at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby)
- Preferred: PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Java; Agile/Scrum experience
