Overview In this role you will lead structural design efforts for low to mid-complexity buildings, collaborating with senior staff on larger projects. You'll deliver analysis, design, and oversight of structural systems and work with cross-functional teams to support project execution, budgeting, scheduling, and client communications. You'll stay current with industry trends and contribute to innovation within IMEG. This position supports a broad mix of healthcare, education, housing, industrial, and public-sector work across the Midwest with an ESOP-owned culture.

Responsibilities- Lead analysis and design of structural systems using various materials
- Create designs, specifications, and calculations following codes and IMEG standards
- Engage with clients to understand needs and communicate technical information
- Build and maintain client relationships and support project execution as part of a team
- Lead planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines
- Document design decisions and monitor progress (percent complete, fee expended)
- Analyze problems with senior staff and develop practical solutions
- Perform in-process reviews and implement quality control per standards
- Stay updated on industry trends and contribute to R&D and innovation
- Prioritize safety, ethics, and multidisciplinary collaboration to meet project goals
- Identify potential problems and support projects through bidding, design, and construction administration phases
Key requirements- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (required)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- 2 years minimum building design consulting experience, 4 preferred
- Strong analytical and design skills across steel, concrete, wood, and masonry
- Experience with structural design software and tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication; team-oriented
- Mentorship ability for less experienced staff
- Proficiency in BIM software
- MS Office Suite proficiency
