Overview In this role you will lead outsourced finance and accounting engagements for Government Contracting clients, shaping financial processes and outcomes. You will coordinate client relationships, staff oversight, and the delivery of GAAP-compliant financial statements while ensuring compliance with FAR, CAS, and DCAA. You'll drive profitability analysis, budgeting, and contract accounting to support executive decision making. Responsibilities- Manage full lifecycle of GovCon outsource engagements, including proposal development and staff oversight
- Review final work products and monitor portfolio financial performance
- Maintain client relationships, provide financial reporting, and make recommendations
- Oversee payroll, GL, AP/AR, fixed assets, cash management, and indirect rate calculation
- Ensure GAAP-compliant statements and effective revenue recognition
- Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA and GovCon regulations; maintain a DCAA-compliant system
- Oversee indirect cost structures, provisional rates, and forward pricing support
- Oversee project setup, funding, labor charging, invoicing, cost allocations, profitability, and closeout
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, indirect rate planning, and financial analysis for executive decisions
- Supervise and train Associates and Senior Associates; provide performance feedback
- Train staff on GovCon tools and methodology
Key requirements- Six (6) or more years of progressive accounting experience
- Three (3) or more years of leading accounting teams in government contracting
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, PROCAS; other GovCon ERP systems preferred
- Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, FAR, CAS, DCAA; government contract accounting and indirect rates
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; business/report writing
- Strong analytical and research abilities
