Overview

In this role you will lead sustainability strategy for a hyperscale data center project, aligning with client ESG goals and regulatory requirements. You will drive LEED certification efforts and coordinate with design, construction, and commissioning teams to embed sustainable systems. You'll track performance metrics and guide decision-making to meet aggressive energy, water, and carbon targets. This position offers impact across a complex program with cross-functional collaboration and a clear sustainability mandate.

Responsibilities
  • Lead sustainability strategy and implementation for a hyperscale data center project
  • Manage and coordinate LEED certification efforts (e.g., LEED BD+C), including documentation and audits
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to integrate sustainable systems
  • Support energy, water, waste, and materials sustainability initiatives for data center environments
  • Track and report metrics such as energy and water use, embodied carbon, and waste performance
  • Provide guidance on sustainable materials, low emitting products, and responsible sourcing
  • Coordinate with third party consultants, commissioning agents, and certifying bodies
  • Educate project teams and subcontractors on sustainability requirements and LEED credits
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation in data center sustainability practices
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Construction Management
  • 7-10 years of experience in sustainability or related fields on large construction projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing LEED certification on complex projects
  • Strong understanding of LEED rating systems and documentation
  • Knowledge of building energy and water efficiency strategies
  • Experience with construction waste management and materials sustainability
  • ESG and carbon-reduction principles applied to built environment
  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder engagement skills
