Overview

As a Value Engineering Project Engineer III, you drive cost reduction and product optimization across cross-functional teams to preserve performance and user value. You'll lead VE initiatives with global engineering, sourcing, quality, manufacturing, and product management, shaping the strategy and execution. You'll tackle tradeoffs, supplier engagements, and qualification testing to deliver measurable savings. This role blends technical leadership with continuous improvement across global manufacturing sites. You join a fast-paced, agile culture focused on value and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple VE projects from concept through implementation
  • Conduct teardowns, benchmarking, and cost modeling to identify opportunities
  • Develop and execute project plans, schedules, and risk mitigation
  • Lead technical tradeoff discussions on cost, performance, and schedule
  • Interface with global suppliers to develop cost-effective design solutions
  • Validate alternative materials, components, and supplier proposals
  • Coordinate qualification testing to meet safety, durability, and performance requirements
  • Track progress and report savings, risks, and timelines to leadership
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Finance, and Product Management to ensure implementation
  • Support production and continuous improvement initiatives across global locations
Key requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience managing product development or VE projects
  • Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Results driven and deadline orientated
  • Ability to manage several simultaneous projects to aggressive schedules
  • Ability to handle fast paced, and agile culture
  • Experience with DFMA, cost modeling, and root cause analysis
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project leadership skills
  • Experience with global suppliers and overseas manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with CAD tools and simulation techniques
  • Experience with teardown benchmarking and cost optimization strategies
  • Ability to draft comprehensive test plans and specifications
  • 10% international travel required
