Responsibilities- Perform cost segregation studies for new, constructed, renovated, and existing properties
- Review construction documents, depreciation schedules, appraisals, engineering reports, and fixed asset records
- Conduct property site visits and document asset classifications
- Prepare engineering-based cost segregation reports meeting IRS guidelines
- Research federal tax regulations related to depreciation, capitalization, bonus depreciation, and tangible property rules
- Identify fixed asset planning opportunities and provide tax-saving recommendations
- Manage multiple engagements; collaborate with clients, contractors, engineers, and internal professionals
- Review staff work and provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance
- Assist Managers and Partners with client relationship management and business development
- Stay current on technical and industry developments and evaluate impact on clients' tax positions
- Participate in training initiatives and contribute to practice growth
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields
- 3-5 years of cost segregation, fixed asset consulting, real estate tax, valuation, or related experience
- CPA, EA, CCSP, PE, or related credentials preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of MACRS depreciation, cost segregation methodologies, and tangible property regulations
- Experience analyzing construction costs, fixed asset records, and building component classifications
- Ability to interpret architectural, engineering, and construction documentation
- Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience mentoring junior team members preferred
- Willingness to travel for site inspections and meetings
- Compensation range: $90,000-$110,000
