Overview In this role, you will act as the Technical Authority for Balance of Plant mechanical systems at TC Energy, guiding standards and technical governance. You will support Operations Engineering with complex issues and shape asset management and maintenance strategies to improve reliability and life-cycle performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manufacturers, and industry bodies to advance best practices and innovative approaches. Responsibilities- Serve as Technical Authority for BOP mechanical systems supporting compressor and meter stations
- Own and maintain engineering standards, driving updates from operating experience and lessons learned
- Evaluate variances and compliance with standards; stay current on codes and industry standards
- Provide Tier 3 engineering support to Operations Engineering for complex issues and investigations
- Develop and oversee asset management and maintenance strategies to optimize reliability, risk, lifecycle performance, and cost
- Guide General Plant Maintenance Capital (GPMC) programs with SME input on asset strategies and investments
- Maintain relationships with equipment manufacturers and industry partners to support innovation and long-term performance
- Lead or participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives and project reviews
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 15 years of progressive engineering experience in gas facilities or related energy infrastructure
- Extensive knowledge of CFR 192, CSA Z662, ASME B31.3, B31.8, ASME Section VIII, API standards
- Experience in asset management, reliability engineering, risk-based decision making, and maintenance optimization
- Experience developing and governing engineering standards, specifications, and procedures
- Experience supporting design reviews, technical assurance, and quality management
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills across diverse stakeholder groups
