Overview In this role you lead and deliver complex mechanical systems for energy and infrastructure projects on hospital and college campuses, driving long-term energy savings within ENFRA's design-build model. You sign and seal technical work, mentor juniors, and coordinate across clients and partners to ensure constructible, reliable solutions. You champion lifecycle performance and energy efficiency while shaping engineering standards. This position blends leadership with hands-on design to realize guaranteed outcomes.
Responsibilities- Sign and seal engineering documents and oversee technical quality
- Lead design and execution of complex mechanical systems and large-scale projects
- Develop system configurations and control schemes aimed at long-term energy savings
- Establish engineering approaches, design standards, and best practices
- Provide technical oversight and review of junior staff
- Manage discipline scope, schedules, and budgets
- Plan field investigations and site visits
- Review plans for 3D laser scanning
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and external partners
- Work independently with broad authority
- Resolve highly complex technical and project challenges
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers
- Support client relationships through technical input, proposals, and engagement
Key requirements- 10+ years of design experience in mechanical systems
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Expert knowledge of mechanical system design and applications
- Strong leadership, project management, and decision-making capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
- Advanced communication and client management skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Willingness to travel 10-25% of time
