Overview As a Construction Estimator in our Long Beach office, you will support management and estimating staff by reviewing plans, requirements, and specs to develop accurate, multi-disciplinary cost estimates. You will lead a team of estimators on large projects, determine labor and equipment costs, perform quantity takeoffs, and assess bid risks. You will prepare bid packages and analyze subcontractor bids, contributing to conceptual through construction-phase estimates. Responsibilities- Review project plans, requirements and specifications
- Coordinate a team of estimators to develop large multidisciplinary estimates
- Determine labor and equipment costs
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing
- Review bid documents and assess project risks
- Understand project logistics and schedule
- Prepare bid packages
- Compare and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids
- Review quotes with Project Management Team
- Prepare estimates at different levels of completion (conceptual to CD)
- Assist with post-bid buyouts
- Ensure diversity compliance in contract requirements
Key requirements- 5 years of experience or College Degree with 3 years of experience
- Experience estimating projects over $30M
- Understanding of all applicable estimating software
- Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
- Well organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task
