Overview

In this role you will support forest management across 170,000 acres in SW Louisiana from DeRidder, collaborating with a diverse team of foresters, managers, and staff. You'll manage planning, silviculture, reforestation, inventory updates, and contractor relations, while advancing environmental stewardship and Safe Work practices. This position offers growth in forestry and business skills, with exposure to SFI standards and market analysis. A field-oriented, collaborative role with cross-location opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist delivered timber harvesting operations including planning, harvest layout, contract administration, timber security, quality inspections and reporting
  • Develop site-specific silviculture prescriptions, budgeting, and implement operations
  • Administer local reforestation programs to ensure successful plantations
  • Update inventory and mapping software with resource support personnel
  • Manage asset protection with external consultants, contractors, and state agencies to minimize losses
  • Collaborate with Recreational License Administrators and other users to ensure compliance and enhance non-timber revenue
  • Participate in special projects to broaden skills
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in forestry or related field
  • Minimum 2 years' forest management experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license and insurable with company's commercial carrier
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ArcGIS
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn key financial concepts for business decisions
