Overview In this Cloud Architect role, you drive enterprise-scale testing and verification for cloud-native platforms across AWS and OpenShift/Kubernetes. You will shape standards, tooling, and AI-enabled testing to ensure code and deployments are reliable, secure, and performant. You'll partner with Cloud Center of Excellence and architecture teams to embed testing into pipelines and golden paths. This is a cross-functional leadership role that influences multiple squads and accelerates AI-assisted development. You'll work to close the gap between deployment and proven reliability at scale.

Responsibilities- Define the enterprise testing and verification strategy for cloud-native platforms (infrastructure, Kubernetes, APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures)
- Design testing approaches leveraging AWS and ROSA/Kubernetes, including IaC validation, service mesh, autoscaling, and compliance checks
- Evaluate and adopt third-party testing tools; build internal services where needed
- Create reference architectures and standards for automated testing (unit to end-to-end, performance, security)
- Collaborate with CCoE and Enterprise Architecture to embed testing in golden paths, DevOps pipelines, and templates
- Develop services and APIs to address gaps in the testing toolchain using AWS and Kubernetes
- Set enterprise test coverage standards and release-readiness criteria; guide adoption
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to integrate testing with CI/CD, cloud infra, containers, and observability
- Champion non-functional requirements (scalability, reliability, security, maintainability) and promote Test-Driven and Behavior-Driven Development
- Define AI-native testing approaches (per-change validation, ephemeral environments, automated verification pipelines) and agent-driven test generation
- Produce architecture docs, decision records, implementation guidance, and operational standards
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and GenAI working group; advise on testing strategy, tooling, modernization, and migration
Key requirements- 10+ years in software engineering or related fields
- 3+ years in a technical leadership role (Architect/Technical Lead)
- Hands-on enterprise app development experience (Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript)
- Experience designing cloud-native solutions on AWS and Kubernetes/OpenShift with microservices and APIs
- Strong knowledge of architecture, DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, security, and operational excellence
- Experience implementing automated testing and verification across apps, APIs, and cloud/infrastructure
- Familiarity with test automation, API/contract/performance/resilience/security testing
- Experience mentoring teams and guiding architecture reviews
- Understanding of test data management and test environments in enterprise contexts
- Experience defining technical standards and roadmaps across multiple teams
- Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IS or related field (or equivalent)
