Overview As a Labor Productivity Analyst, you help ensure efficient, appropriate, and sustainable labor use to support high-quality patient care. You'll analyze workforce performance across clinical and non-clinical areas and translate labor, volume, and acuity data into actionable insights for staffing and operations. You will partner with operational leaders to tell clear data-driven stories and influence decisions, with opportunities for growth into leadership roles.
Responsibilities- Analyze labor utilization, staffing grids, premium pay trends, and productivity benchmarks across departments
- Present labor performance to operational and executive leaders and identify improvement opportunities
- Support labor management software through reconciliation, vendor partnerships, and training
- Identify inefficiencies in clinical workflows and staffing alignment with patient demand
- Collaborate with nursing and dept. leaders to optimize staffing and reduce premium labor
- Build labor forecasting models in Excel and conduct annual labor budgeting with leadership
- Develop models to evaluate impacts of operational or strategic changes
- Develop trusted relationships with operational leaders and communicate data-driven recommendations
- Translate complex analyses into concise insights for decision-making in leadership discussions
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Data Analytics, or related field
- Two years of experience with healthcare labor metrics, staffing models, or operational performance data
- Strong analytical thinking
- Consultative mindset and relationship-building
- Active listening and ability to balance qualitative with quantitative feedback
- Excel-based labor forecasting and budgeting
- Experience with labor management software (e.g., LaborLytics, Kronos, Epic)
- Data analysis and visualization skills
