Overview

As Lead Data & AI Platform Architect, you will be the technical domain expert for foundational data, integration, and AI infrastructure. You'll steer the technology strategy, define target architectures, and deliver scalable, secure data platforms designed for Generative AI and ML. You'll evaluate emerging technologies and mentor architects, engineers, and stakeholders to adopt enterprise standards. The role blends hands-on cloud data work with strategic guidance to enable data-driven investment services. This is a high-impact position shaping Capital Group's AI-enabled data ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Define and roadmap target state architectures for data and AI platforms
  • Build reference implementations for scalable, resilient data platforms
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies in data/AI
  • Ensure AI-ready, secure, high-performance data pipelines
  • Provide governance, security, and compliance guidance in data/AI domains
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business partners to mature capabilities
  • Lead technology strategy to support Capital Group's mission
  • Oversee lab testing and validation of data solutions
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of enterprise data architecture/engineering experience
  • Cloud-native data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Dremio)
  • LLM orchestration (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and AI development frameworks
  • Patterns: domain-driven design, event-driven, RAG, Agentic AI, Data Mesh
  • Python, Spark; deployment of LLMs via AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Mosaic AI
  • Strong ability to design and deliver data strategies with performance, cost, and security in mind
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to mitigate architectural risks and ensure regulatory compliance
