Traveling Project Manager - Self Perform Operations - Concrete

Overview

You will lead and coordinate Self-Perform Operations projects for Turner Construction, guiding pursuit, staffing, planning, budget, and risk management. You'll build high-performing teams and cultivate diverse, inclusive environments while managing client relationships and contract terms. The role focuses on delivering on-site operations, safety, quality, and scheduling to support iconic, high-impact projects. You'll work with cross-functional teams to drive innovations and ensure financial and operational success on a major Northern Louisiana initiative.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development of high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring; include timely performance feedback
  • Foster diversity and inclusion across staff
  • Develop and nurture client relationships to become trusted advisors
  • Understand and administer contracts and subcontract agreements
  • Promote community involvement to build strategic relationships
  • Enhance internal, architect, owner, vendor, and supplier relations
  • Assist in updating and distributing the SPO master schedule to trade partners
  • Manage budget and financial reporting; analyze reports for budget adherence
  • Oversee productivity tracking and QC programs
  • Provide leadership for risk evaluation, contract negotiations, and pricing decisions
  • Ensure compliance with business ethics and company programs
  • Oversee field operations and engineering processes
  • Understand and manage labor agreements in union environments
  • Develop and implement project safety protocols
  • Submit pay applications timely; coordinate with accounting on invoices
  • Review subcontracts, POs, and change orders for accuracy
  • Inform management via ORM on project and budget progress
  • Support company initiatives and promote emerging technologies for competitive advantage
  • Handle other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related experience or equivalent
  • Supervisory/management experience preferred
  • Prior union management experience desired
  • Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, budgeting, and accounting principles
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs, scopes of work and schedule
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with computer applications and Microsoft Office
