Overview

In this role you will lead the design and evolution of enterprise data platforms aligned with business priorities and technology strategy. You will work closely with business stakeholders to translate needs into scalable AWS-based solutions and guide engineering teams through architecture decisions. You will drive data pipelines and platforms that support analytics and operations, while ensuring governance and alignment with enterprise standards. This is a cross-functional, mentorship-focused leadership role at Vanguard, offering the chance to shape data capabilities at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Lead architecture, design, and evolution of enterprise data products and platforms
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Design and implement cloud-native data architectures using AWS
  • Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with architects, product teams, and technology partners to align with enterprise standards
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines, data integration solutions, and data platforms
  • Evaluate technologies and vendor solutions for future capabilities
  • Support architecture governance and contribute to standards and best practices
  • Mentor engineers and foster technical excellence
  • Drive delivery by balancing business needs, feasibility, scalability, and long-term sustainability
Key requirements
  • Minimum five years related work experience with at least two years of development experience
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience architecting and building cloud-based data platforms using AWS
  • Strong programming and data engineering experience with Python, SQL, and PySpark
  • Experience designing and supporting large-scale data pipelines and distributed data processing solutions
  • Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns, data modeling, and enterprise data ecosystems
  • Experience partnering with business stakeholders and translating requirements into technical solutions
