Overview

In this role you will lead MEP operations across commercial and institutional construction projects, driving field performance, quality, safety and client satisfaction while guiding Project Managers and the business unit. You will combine deep MEP knowledge with strong operational leadership and commercial acumen in healthcare, hospitality and education sectors. You'll oversee planning, execution and continuous improvement to deliver on time and within budget. This is a hands-on, impact-focused position with a clear hook in advancing safety culture and project outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day MEP operations, supervising field management and subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, and compliant project execution.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to plan resources, schedules and delivery strategies across multiple jobs.
  • Oversee QA and commissioning of mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems to meet design specs and client expectations.
  • Manage financial performance including forecasting, budgeting, billings, and change orders; drive resolution of claims with commercial/legal teams.
  • Ensure contract compliance, including bonds and COI; manage risk and safety programs.
  • Implement safety procedures and OSHA-compliant practices to maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Conduct progress reviews with PMs, superintendents and stakeholders to drive accountability and improvement.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and financial metrics for senior leadership.
  • Support recruitment, development and performance management of field and technical staff; provide coaching.
  • Coordinate with procurement for materials and vendor performance to maintain schedule and quality.
  • Drive process improvements and standardized procedures for MEP construction and maintenance.
  • Represent the company in client meetings, inspections and close-out activities to secure repeat business.
Key requirements
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in MEP construction, operations or field management with leadership of multi-site programs.
  • Proven experience in commercial construction with healthcare, hospitality and education exposures.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, installation standards and commissioning.
  • Experience with project financials: budgeting, forecasting, billings, change orders, pricing and claims management.
  • Experience with contracts, bonds, COI and risk management.
  • OSHA-compliant safety program implementation and strong safety management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management; comfortable leading meetings.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and standard office tools.
  • PMP, LEED or construction safety credentials are a plus.
  • Ability to travel to job sites and work flexible hours.
