Principal Accountant

In this role you drive accurate financial accounting for unregulated properties, ensuring GAAP compliance and robust internal controls. You will collaborate with internal partners and IBM MXDC to align with objectives, while mentoring accounting teams as a trusted subject matter expert. You lead the close process, review entries and reconciliations, and resolve complex issues using data and analytics. You shape accounting policy, support reporting in a dynamic environment, and pursue continuous process improvement, helping scale operations and uphold financial stewardship.

• Foster relationships with internal partners and IBM MXDC to align with objectives
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship as accounting SME
• Analyze complex transactions for GAAP, policy, and internal controls
• Leverage systems and analytics to resolve complex issues and inform decisions
• Lead accounting close process to ensure timeliness and accuracy
• Review and approve entries, reconciliations, and schedules for accuracy and compliance
• Research complex matters, develop recommendations, and communicate conclusions to management
• Lead process improvement efforts and support internal/external reporting in a evolving environment
• Maintain consistent application of accounting policies
