Staff Accountant

Overview

In this Staff Accountant role, you will support close processes and financial reporting within a growing SaaS business. You'll work across the accounting cycle to improve processes, strengthen controls, and help scale the accounting function in a fully remote setup. You will partner with the Finance team to deliver accurate results and support audits and compliance. This is an opportunity to influence growth-stage finance operations and gain exposure to system enhancements and potential acquisitions.

Responsibilities
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate results within deadlines
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, researching discrepancies
  • Utilize NetSuite for transaction processing, reporting, reconciliations, and close activities
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and related reconciliations
  • Support preparation of financial statements and recurring management reporting per US GAAP
  • Analyze revenue and expenses for unusual trends or issues needing review
  • Assist with audit documentation, tax filings, and 1099 reporting
  • Collaborate with Accounting Manager on process improvements, system enhancements, and automation
  • Participate in special projects such as acquisition integration and systems implementations
  • Maintain strong accounting documentation and internal controls; contribute to policy development
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in SaaS/recurring-revenue
  • Hands-on NetSuite experience across the full accounting cycle
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, GL accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong systems aptitude
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a remote environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience with acquisition integration or system implementations is a plus
