Multifamily - Lead Superintendent

Overview

In this role you drive on-site construction execution, leading field teams to meet milestones while upholding quality, safety, and cleanliness. You'll coordinate with project staff and stakeholders to anticipate risks, adjust schedules, and ensure inspections pass. You report to the Project Manager and play a hands-on role in problem solving, coordination, and documentation. This is a frontline, impact-oriented position shaping project success and safety culture.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day construction activities to meet milestones and target completion dates
  • Develop short-interval and 3+-week look-ahead schedules and communicate progress
  • Identify and mitigate potential issues; report delays with proposed solutions
  • Maintain daily/weekly progress logs and ensure quality of work before inspections
  • Maintain site safety, health, and cleanliness; monitor code compliance
  • Review plans to determine construction methods and flag constructability issues
  • Explain plans and contract terms to staff, subcontractors, and clients
  • Manage punch lists, close-out, submittals, and RFIs; resolve conflicts as needed
  • Ensure project documentation is complete and accurate
  • Attend jobsite meetings and coordinate with vendors, engineers, and office staff
  • Lead and motivate teams, manage client relationships and maintain confidentiality
Key requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited four-year college with major coursework in construction science, engineering, architecture, or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in multi-family, wood framing, structural concrete, construction projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Strong knowledge of structural concrete, wood framing, and MEP building systems
  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead a team; effective time management and decision-making
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; MS Project; Prolog or similar project management software a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
