Overview In this Regulatory Counsel role, you will provide practical legal guidance on product regulations, sustainability, and global compliance. You will translate complex requirements into actionable guidance for cross-functional teams and shape scalable compliance programs. You'll monitor evolving regulations across jurisdictions and help manage regulatory risk while supporting business growth. This position offers exposure to a broad range of regulatory topics within a collaborative, ethics-driven legal team.
Responsibilities- Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance on product regulatory compliance, EHS, disclosure and reporting obligations, due diligence, risk management, and emerging regulations.
- Develop and improve compliance programs addressing product compliance, sustainability, supply chain due diligence, and related regulatory requirements.
- Advise on government funding, incentives, and contracting including grant funding and procurement obligations.
- Support Global Trade Compliance by monitoring regulatory developments, coordinating with external counsel, and collaborating with product, sales, operations, sustainability, and government affairs teams.
- Contribute to the broader Ethics & Compliance program through policies, third-party due diligence, training, communications, investigations, and other initiatives.
- Identify, assess, and manage regulatory risks across global operations; assist with M&A due diligence and integration; respond to inquiries, audits, investigations, and enforcement matters.
- Translate regulatory developments into clear guidance for business stakeholders; build relationships with product safety, trade compliance, information security, operations, and other teams.
- Collaborate with Legal department on initiatives and practical solutions to regulatory challenges.
- Based in Fremont, CA or Tualatin, OR, reporting to the Director, Ethics & Compliance and Regulatory Counsel
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state; eligible to join the Oregon Bar or register as in-house counsel in California
- 3-8 years of legal experience in regulatory, compliance, environmental, product, supply chain, or government contracting matters
- Experience supporting compliance programs and advising on regulations affecting industrial equipment, sustainability, or related areas
- Ability to analyze complex legal requirements and provide clear, risk-based guidance
- Strong organizational, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
