Overview As Senior Laboratory Manager, you'll direct daily lab operations at our Tampa site and lead a diverse team to ensure high-quality service. You'll align staffing and workflow with client needs and regulatory standards, driving timely diagnostic results and continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with Medical and Technical leadership to resolve issues, implement procedures, and maintain compliance across CAP, CLIA, and state requirements. This role offers meaningful scope to shape lab operations, mentor staff, and support Labcorp's mission to improve health and lives.

Responsibilities- Direct daily operational activities of the department (technical and non-technical)
- Manage staffing and production scheduling, adjusting for overtime and coverage
- Supervise, train, and mentor supervisors and staff
- Ensure lab meets market-leading service levels and turnaround targets (TAT)
- Resolve client inquiries and operational issues with leadership and cross-functional teams
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (CAP, CLIA, State, ISO)
- Assist in developing and implementing procedures and installing equipment/methods
- Oversee hiring, performance management, training, and development
- Maintain effective communication with leadership, clients, sales, and staff
- Conduct departmental meetings and ensure clear communication
- Investigate deviations and implement corrective actions
- Maintain broad technical knowledge across lab testing areas
Key requirements- Bachelor in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 5+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience
- Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License
- 5+ years of supervising or leading a team
- 5+ years of experience managing people leaders
