Tax Attorney

In this role you provide critical US federal income tax guidance to NextEra's renewable energy businesses, focusing on acquisitions, dispositions, financings, restructurings, and joint ventures. You work with deal teams to model tax outcomes and ensure compliance, shaping tax strategy during deal execution. You will be a primary tax contact for deals, translating complex rules into actionable advice. This is a mission-driven opportunity to optimize taxes in a growing energy portfolio.

• Analyze tax laws for planning transactions and identify implications
• Collaborate with tax advisors and deal teams to interpret rules
• Prepare or review financial models illustrating tax consequences
• Serve as the US federal income tax single point of accountability for deals
• Draft and review tax provisions in deal documents
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree
• Juris Doctorate
• 1+ years experience
• Member in Good Standing of State Bar or Bar of Equivalent Foreign Jurisdiction
• Background in partnership and/or M&A transactions

• Tax modeling and financial modeling
• Understanding of US federal income tax
• Tax provisions in deal documents
• Tax rule consultation and cross-functional advisory
