Overview

In this role you will support the Senior Director of Accounting to oversee monthly close, property and joint-venture accounting, and process improvements within a transforming finance function. You will manage a team, ensure accurate reporting, and help implement new processes and offshore transitions. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver timely financial insights and maintain internal controls. This is an opportunity to shape efficient, compliant financial processes in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, mentor and train a team to ensure timely, accurate accounting tasks
  • Oversee month-end close including journal entries, invoices, payments reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Review property-related entries for accurate property-level expense allocation
  • Manage monthly close and accrual processes to meet deadlines
  • Assist with accounting matters related to joint-venture activities
  • Oversee credit card expense processing and policy adherence
  • Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close ensuring GAAP compliance
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports from third parties and joint ventures
  • Monitor internal controls and accounting policies to ensure SOX compliance
  • Assist in offshore transition of tasks and improvement of systems/processes
  • Support internal and external audits and stay updated on accounting standards
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with 2+ years in supervision
  • Experience with property accounting preferred
  • Proven track record in process improvement and change management in finance (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
