Overview In this role you will oversee complex tax returns and examinations, acting as a technical authority within the team. You will manage larger engagements, mentor staff, and ensure timely, accurate client delivery while supporting practice development. Responsibilities- Review and approve tax returns and government examinations of high complexity
- Serve as subject matter expert in discipline or industry
- Oversee large tax returns and delegate to tax preparers
- Manage client service for assigned clients and those delegated by Partners
- Coordinate and may represent clients before taxing authorities
- Develop and train staff, participate in recruiting and performance evaluations
- Ensure smooth flow of returns through tax preparation system and timely delivery
- Handle billing and collections processes
- Prepare reports/projects for Partners
- Research and evaluate tax software for Partners' consideration
- Engage in firm practice development through referrals and industry activities
Key requirements- Knowledge of current tax laws
- Proficiency with tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning software
- Overtime, including heavy overtime from Jan 1 to Apr 15
- 7-10 years of public accounting experience with progression in tax complexity
- At least 2 years representing clients before authorities
- Minimum 1 year supervising tax preparers
- Bachelor in Accounting; Master in Taxation preferred
- 40 hours of continuing education annually
