Tax Senior Manager - Family Office

Overview

In this Tax Senior Manager role within RSM's Family Office Enterprise practice, you will advise ultra-high net worth families on tax strategy, compliance, and wealth planning, leading engagements and building client relationships. You'll work within a cross-functional team to deliver integrated tax services and support firm growth. You will mentor and coordinate engagement teams while contributing to committees and thought leadership. This position offers a defined career path, specialized training, and opportunities to influence family office tax strategy at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on full spectrum of tax services for family offices and multi-generational families (structuring, succession, wealth transfer, compliance)
  • Lead engagement teams across entity, individual, fiduciary, and gift/estate taxation and ensure engagement planning and execution meet client expectations and profitability thresholds
  • Anticipate client needs and collaborate with specialists and cross-line of business to grow relationships
  • Participate in prospective client proposals and develop new client relationships
  • Foster exceptional talent experience by leading collaborative teams and rewarding performance
  • Participate in local and national committees to build technical expertise and strategic plans
  • Develop and sustain relationships with clients and centers of influence through networking and thought leadership
  • Align with RSM's values and act as an enterprise leader to empower teams across the firm
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field
  • CPA license in principal place of business/home state, licensed J.D. or enrolled agent (with approval)
  • Minimum 8 years in public accounting with emphasis on private client taxation incl. family offices and multi-generational families
  • Proficient in entity or individual and fiduciary taxation with understanding of complex investments and tax implications
  • Familiar with multi-state taxation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead teams and manage a significant book of business
