Overview In this role you drive sophisticated policy strategies to foster business growth while protecting an open internet. You will serve as the primary liaison to Texas policymakers and regulatory bodies, building coalitions with industry and civic partners. You'll manage political giving aligned with strategic goals and develop community engagement to reinforce Google's role as a responsible corporate citizen. You'll work with product teams to translate policy positions into actionable advocacy materials and educate state officials on local impact and policy positions. Responsibilities- Lead regional policy strategies and proactive legislative campaigns in Texas
- Serve as primary liaison to Governor's offices, state legislatures, and regulatory bodies
- Build coalitions with trade associations, industry partners, and non-profits
- Manage political giving portfolio to align with corporate objectives
- Develop community engagement initiatives to portray Google as a responsible corporate citizen
- Monitor and analyze Texas state and local proposals affecting AI, privacy, energy, and infrastructure
- Collaborate with product teams to draft official positions and advocacy materials
- Educate state legislators, municipal officials, and regulatory staff on Google's impact and policy positions
- Represent Google in legislative hearings and educational briefings
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 7 years of experience in policy analysis and campaigns on technology issues or related policy environments
- 7 years of experience working within government, think tanks, public interest groups, tech industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations
