Overview As Sales Territory Account Representative, you will manage opportunities across West Virginia, Eastern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, and Upstate New York. This home-based role requires substantial travel and close collaboration with the Northeast Regional Sales Manager. You will build territory knowledge, develop quotes, and convert opportunities into profitable sales while supporting Field Service needs. You will leverage gearbox and gear component knowledge to drive market growth and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on, target-driven role in a collaborative, manufacturing-focused environment.
Responsibilities- Develop in-depth knowledge of customers and markets in the assigned territory
- Visit customer sites and perform informal equipment surveys
- Provide liaison support to Field Service and assist in resolving issues
- Understand gear manufacturing, repair, and testing procedures
- Know company product offerings and aftermarket potential
- Create quotes/proposals and convert opportunities into sales
- Assess territory to create effective market plans
- Maintain accurate sales calls, quotations, and closing transactions
- Submit required reports on time (expenses, activity, target accounts, itineraries)
- Work well in a team while able to work independently under pressure
- Meet deadlines and handle high-stress travel demands
- Build customer confidence and solve problems using persuasive sales techniques
- Demonstrate multi-tasking, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
- Ready for 50%+ travel and occasional overnight trips
Key requirements- 5+ years of sales experience
- gearbox repair and/or motor repair experience preferred
- 5+ years of mechanical experience, preferably in gearbox repair
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to travel 50%+ (domestic), including overnight
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Authorized to work in the US
