Overview As Chief Architect, you serve as the principal architectural authority for Signet's unified Digital & Technology organization, guiding cross-brand platform strategy and enterprise integrity. You will shape a multi-year target architecture spanning commerce, data/AI, store operations, and supply chain, ensuring decisions align with customer outcomes and business goals. You'll lead platform harmonization across brands, drive AI-enabled engineering, and establish durable governance. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a senior technologist who thrives in a complex, multi-brand environment.
Responsibilities- Own cross-enterprise architectural view and multi-year target-state architecture.
- Define and test the enterprise technical roadmap with domain/platform leaders.
- Harmonize multi-brand technology estate and integrate Blue Nile and acquisitions.
- Drive architecture governance, ADRs, and decision gates; align programs with business intent.
- Provide hands-on leadership on high-impact cross-domain initiatives (commerce, CMS, order management, customer data).
- Lead AI-enabled engineering with end-to-end SDLC integration and guardrails.
- Mentor domain architects and partner with executives across Product, Marketing, Merchandising, Store Ops, and Finance.
Key requirements- 15+ years of progressive technology experience in large-scale retail/e-commerce.
- Experience as Chief/Principal Architect, VP of Engineering, or CTO in multi-brand environments.
- Proven track record in platform consolidation, brand harmonization, and simplification at scale.
- Deep knowledge of cloud, integration, event-driven, and headless/composable (MACH) architectures; hands-on with serverless cloud ecosystems (e.g., AWS).
- Ability to author durable architecture artifacts (capability maps, C4 diagrams, ADRs).
- Strong financial fluency and ability to influence in matrixed organizations without formal authority.
- Experience with AI-assisted SDLC practices and agentic AI patterns.
- Bachelor in Computer Science; technical Master's preferred.
