Overview

In this Builders Risk role, you guide the underwriting and sales process to make Hartford the carrier of choice. You work closely with agents, brokers, and internal partners to drive strategic planning, underwriting excellence, and cross-sell opportunities. The position blends relationship leadership with strong analytical decision-making in a collaborative, results-driven environment. You'll shape risk selection and coverage strategies while supporting growth across the team. Responsibilities
  • Lead the sales and underwriting process by building durable relationships with agents and brokers
  • Position Hartford as the carrier of choice through proactive account stewardship
  • Manage the sales process from strategic planning to operational execution
  • Develop cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across the underwriting team
  • Collaborate in a collaborative and results-oriented environment with mentorship and market focus
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of P&C commercial carrier underwriting experience
  • Builders Risk underwriting experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Analytical mindset with ability to assess business problems and propose solutions
  • High energy self-starter with resilience and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong time, organizational, and desk management skills
  • Goal-oriented with a track record of delivering outcomes
